Valgan Tablet contains Valganciclovir, an antiviral medication used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection of the retina (CMV retinitis) in adult AIDS patients. It is also used to prevent CMV infection in patients who have undergone organ transplants from CMV-positive donors. CMV retinitis is a viral infection of the retina, which can lead to vision loss if untreated.
Valgan Tablet works by converting to ganciclovir in the body, which inhibits the multiplication of CMV. This action helps to control the infection and prevent it from worsening.
Take the Valgan Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage and duration will depend on your medical condition. Do not stop taking the medication without consulting your healthcare provider.
Some side effects may include:
- Diarrhea
- Loss of appetite
- Cough
- Headache
- Stomach pain
- Nausea
- Fever
- Tiredness
- Sinusitis (sinus infection)

- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses at once.
- Store the Valgan Tablet at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
